DoW ManTech Drives Innovation and Collaboration at Successful Defense Manufacturing Conference

Orlando, FL — The Office of the Secretary of War Manufacturing Technology Program (ManTech) took part in one of the most influential technology platforms in the U.S., the annual Defense Manufacturing Conference (DMC). Joined by key innovators, researchers, academics and industry leaders from across the advanced manufacturing landscape, ManTech Director, Keith DeVries, said he left the site of the conference in Orlando, Florida re-energized and inspired after engaging in discussions about next-generation technologies in defense manufacturing. Although DMC 2025 was postponed until March 30, 2026, it remains one of the Nation’s most influential advanced manufacturing platforms, showcasing new and emerging technologies from across the defense industrial base, and featuring a series of exciting panel discussions and unique networking opportunities.

Recognizing Excellence in Advanced Manufacturing at Defense Manufacturing Technology Achievement Awards

Orlando, Florida — The Office of the Secretary of War Manufacturing Technology Program honored the remarkable achievements of individuals and teams in critical manufacturing technologies at the Defense Manufacturing Technology Achievement Awards (DMTAA), March 30, 2026. Hosted by the Joint Defense Manufacturing Technology Panel (JDMTP) and sponsored by the manufacturing association, SME, the awards honored those who have made significant contributions to enhancing warfighter capabilities, reducing costs and improving performance through groundbreaking innovations.  The award ceremony took place at the annual Defense Manufacturing Conference in Orlando, Florida. The event also featured the prestigious ManTech Champion Award, which recognizes individuals who have demonstrated enduring commitment to the ManTech mission - delivering cutting-edge technologies to the warfighter.

Inspiring the Next Generation: DoD ManTech Director Connects with Local Students at Allison Transmission for Manufacturing Day

INDIANAPOLIS — Keith DeVries, director of the Department of Defense’s Manufacturing Technology (DoD ManTech) program, celebrated Manufacturing Day (MFG Day) at Allison Transmission in Indianapolis. MFG Day, observed annually on the first Friday in October and throughout the month, is a nationwide initiative aimed at inspiring the next generation of manufacturers and addressing the skilled labor shortage. DeVries collaborated with the counseling staff of Bloomington High School South (BHSS), Allison Transmission, and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation to introduce students to the diverse career paths in the manufacturing industry.

DoD Manufacturing Science and Technology Program’s Extended Reality Inspection Project Identifies Transition Sponsors

At a recent demonstration and transition workshop at the Wright Brothers Institute in Dayton, Ohio, the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Manufacturing Science and Technology Program (MSTP)-funded Quality Control, Quality Assurance Companion (QQComp) team successfully identified transition sponsors and established action plans with two Military Service maintenance, manufacturing, and engineering organizations: The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, and the Air Force’s Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex (WR-ALC).
