This April marks three years since BioMADE officially launched. The successes our industry has seen over the last three years would not be possible without our incredible 275+ member organizations and our partners in the U.S. government. The past year has held many milestones for BioMADE, including announcing nine new projects to advance domestic manufacturing and DoD sustainability goals and naming the next six states in consideration for our infrastructure plans, and much more. We are thrilled to continue supporting the development of biomanufacturing technologies alongside our member organizations, through innovation, education, and collaboration. Gaps Progress Report Available: America Makes and ANSI Publish Standardization Roadmap for Additive Manufacturing

America Makes and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) announced today the availability of a Gaps Progress Report tracking efforts over the last nine months by standards developing organizations (SDOs) and others to address the gaps identified in the Standardization Roadmap for Additive Manufacturing, Version 3.0, published by the America Makes and ANSI Additive Manufacturing Standardization Collaborative (AMSC).

America Makes Spring 2024 TRX Encourages Nimble Exploration to Drive AM Advancement

The spring Technical Review & Exchange (TRX) event hosted by America Makes, the U.S. additive manufacturing (AM) industry’s leading voice, took place on April 9-11, 2024, at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO. The three-day event brought together hundreds of engineers, decision-makers, government officials, members, and partners across the AM industry, showcasing more than 30 projects and the Institute’s exponential growth and achievements.

Industry Associations Convene at ARM Institute Headquarters

The 2024 Joint Technology Summit occurred at the ARM Institute’s Pittsburgh facility on April 2-3, 2024, bringing together the technology committees of AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology, AGMA (American Gear Manufacturers Association), and NTMA (National Tooling and Machining Association) to explore the latest in manufacturing innovation and advancements ranging from precision gears for robotics to the integration of AI in digital manufacturing.

America Makes Announces IMPACT 2.0 Project Call Worth $6.6M in Funding

America Makes and the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM) announced a new open project call funded by the Office of the Secretary of Defense Manufacturing Technology Program (OSD ManTech) worth a total of $6.6M. The project call, Improvements in Manufacturing Productivity via Additive Capabilities and Techno-Economic Analysis 2.0 (IMPACT 2.0), consists of two areas of focus and aims to demonstrate lead time, productivity, and yield improvements for casting and forging (C&F) manufacturing operations using additive manufacturing (AM) technologies. Seven awards are anticipated with the maximum request for funding varying depending upon the specific topic area.
