MxD Announces New Board Member and Names New Board Leadership

MxD today announced the addition of Alexis Lasselle Ross, PhD, President of Apex Defense Strategies, LLC., to its board of directors. Apex Defense Strategies is a strategic advisory firm that guides companies navigating the defense market and the Department of Defense.  Ross founded the firm following a more than two-decade career as an executive in both the public and private sectors.

America Makes Announces Project Call Worth $2.1M in Funding

America Makes and the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM) announced a new open project call funded through the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Research and Engineering Manufacturing Technology Office (OSD(R&E)) worth a total of $2.1M. The project call consists of six topic areas of focus. Four awards are anticipated for topics 1-5 with the maximum funding request not to exceed $225K. Two awards are anticipated for topic 6 and must not exceed $600K.

Tracy Frost has been appointed to the Senior Executive Service as the new Director of the Technology Industrial Innovation Base (TIIB) within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Science and Technology OASD(S&T). She will now lead on the front lines of advanced technology integration, generating opportunities for small and mid-sized businesses and growing the robust production capabilities, supply chains and partnerships the Nation needs.
