Joint Defense Manufacturing Council
Joint Defense Manufacturing Council
The Joint Defense Manufacturing Council (JDMC) is a forum for senior leaders across the Department of Defense to collaborate and make recommendations to improve the alignment of resources, prioritize areas of joint challenge, facilitate information sharing on advances and needs in manufacturing, and ultimately shape the manufacturing capabilities of the defense industrial base. The success of these activities has profound implications for the readiness and cost-effectiveness of existing, emerging, and new systems.
JDMC membership includes senior leaders from Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)), Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Defense Logistics Agency, Missile Defense Agency, Defense Contract Management Agency, and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
Objectives
Identify, support, and increase collaboration on cross-cutting initiatives in manufacturing
Improve alignment of defense research, manufacturing, maintenance, and supply capabilities for critical DoD systems and technologies
Create strategies, policies, and incentives to speed application of manufacturing technologies into defense products and sustainment
