Background:

Did you know the DoD employs more than 100,000 engineers?

Every February, the National Society of Professional Engineers and the educational organization DiscoverE sponsor a nationwide Engineers Week (E-Week) to encourage young people to consider Engineering as a field of study and career, and to recognize the countless contributions engineers make to our daily lives. This year’s theme is Welcome to the Future!

The Pentagon traditionally recognizes E-Week with a ceremony featuring invited speakers highlighting the innovations and dedication engineers bring to the Nation’s defense and security. The Principal Deputy Executive Director for SE&A cohosts the ceremony with the WHS Facilities Services Directorate.
