The Manufacturing Science and Technology Program (MSTP), part of the DoD Manufacturing Technology Program (DoD ManTech), highlighted some of its new laser technology at the Pentagon on July 8, 2025. MSTP is working on automating laser welding fiber optics to glass for high-power laser weapons systems. The display was part of DoD ManTech’s annual event, which includes exhibits and demonstrations across its portfolio. The MSTP invests in advanced manufacturing technology that enhances the production of defense-specific products, issuing annual calls for proposals to address critical technology needs.
